I will admit when I first started buying groceries I just bought things. Didn’t really have a plan and when I did buy them I would just buy to have around the apartment. Sad to admit this I didn’t think or plan meals through. And a lot of things just went to waste sadly. But you live and learn. And now I buy things that I plan on using and try to have little to no food being wasted. But then when I first started working full-time I felt like I was always spending more time cooking than doing anything else. After a year working full-time I decided I wanted a change. So, for my New Years resolution I decided to look into doing meal prep. And what I found is that meal prep definitely saves time, money, stress, and most importantly waste.
Meal prep has been a total game changer for me and Derik. It definitely has helped eliminate what we were losing…Money, time, stress, and most importantly food. I wish I had discovered meal prep sooner but again you live and learn. Now I spend some time in the kitchen but I am able to do other things I love, spend time with my husband and fur babies, scrap-booking, water color arts, cross-stitching, and gaming. My cousin, Stephanie, suggested doing a food blog on meal prep. And at first I wasn’t sure what to cover since meal prep has a lot to it. But then it dawned on me. Let’s start with an introduction video first to meal prep. Followed by some meal examples broken up into two videos and then one last video on how you can take one protein and make multiple meals out of it.
My hope with these videos is that it will help anyone that is either struggling, needs a lending hand, and/or learn some meal prep tips and tricks. Or even simply just wanting to make their meal prep successful and easier during their busy life/schedule. I will be breaking these meal prep videos into a 4 part series to help break down the process and that way it isn’t too overwhelming for one video.
But let’s not waste anymore time and let’s get right into the basics.
